About SPD

SPD was established to provide cost-effective, modern cabinets and furniture. SPD is capable of designing and building a full range of cabinetry including:
cabinet packages for the entire home or business,
kitchen and service area cabinets,
cabinets for individual or entire rooms,
individual custom cabinets.

Our plywood veneer process allows us to fabricate custom veneers from a wide variety of wood species.  SPD’s shop is also equipped with a full-service spray booth for all types of finishing needs.  And, we provide on-site installation for each cabinet package we produce.

The SPD line of furniture is constantly evolving and currently includes chairs, benches, coffee tables and stand-alone cabinets.  Each furniture piece is forward-thinking, elegant and achieves a practicality of modern living.

SPD is a subsidiary of its parent company, BUILD LLC, and the cabinet shop is well integrated with BUILD’s core capabilities in Architecural design, construction management and hands-on expertise. SPD draws from our combined wealth of experience in design, construction and wood working.

David Hentzel is the primary partner of SPD and runs our cabinet shop.
With 30 years of wood-working experience, David is a master woodworker.  His work has been exhibited from Seattle to New York, collecting 32 woodworking and furniture awards; 24 of which were for best of show.
David learned cabinet making from his grandfather and went on to study under Sam Maloof, the father of contemporary furniture.  And, David routinely uses tools that you’ve probably never even heard of.
